2019 - The Year of Fire

Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping Him with Holy fear and awe. For our God is a consuming fire. (Hebrews 12:28-29)

It is with deep excitement and expectation that I share with you what the Lord shared with me a few weeks ago in prayer concerning the year 2019. For our congregation, He has designated this: The Year of FIRE!

Let me remind you of just a few passages about fire in Scripture…

  • God came to and drew Moses as an unquenchable Fire in a burning bush…

  • God led the people Israel as a pillar of Fire

  • Jesus came to baptize with the Holy Spirit and with Fire

  • Tongues of Fire appeared above/upon the 120 in the Upper Room…

  • As believers, our Kingdom works will be tested by Fire

Fire purifies, and fire consumes. Fire brings both light and heat; Fire dispels both darkness and frigidity. Fire guides and unites; fire overwhelms and disperses. I could go on and so could you, but we all get the point!

As always, as we begin the year, I don’t pretend to know everything our loving Heavenly Abba means by designating this The Year of Fire, but I think we can prayerfully open ourselves up to several obvious probabilities….

  • Father wants to ignite Fires of Awakening in our midst!

  • Father wants a people who are willing to walk in Fire-tested maturity and purity.

  • Almighty Dad is looking for those who will pray and worship until the Fire descends and build in His Kingdom in ways that reflect His burning glory.

  • Father is separating the temporal from the eternal and will consume everything that cannot be refined and perfected…

  • Papa is looking for those who are attracted to His Fire rather than offended by it...

As you can imagine, we will listen to the Word as He teaches us about the deeper realities of Heaven’s Fires. But beyond learning, I believe this will be a year of profound experiences of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit Fires!

While the Scripture quoted above reminds us to never treat the Lord Almighty flippantly or carelessly, it also gives us extraordinary hope.

The Fires of God are here, they are burning, they are purifying, and they are spreading. The Fires of God are drawing and testing and awakening and preparing. The Fires of God are burning in our hearts and will soon shine forth in our lamps as we await His return…!

Welcome, my dear family, to 2019—The Year of FIRE!!!
