Appalachian Awakening Internship Outline

Vision

To provide a space and template to raise up and establish Church Planters with a heart for revival in Appalachia. In collaboration with Kaleo International, we First Church (a Kaleo Congregation) want to identify:

 

  1. those who are called to reach and pastor to the least of these in rural impoverished Appalachian towns;

  2. allow them to be baptized in the vision of The Appalachia Awakening, and;

  3. disciple them in servant leadership in planting vibrant Life Groups, with a vision to plant other Life Groups, with the sole purpose of building the kingdom of Heaven on earth, and exalting the beautiful name of Jesus.

18 months outline:
(the outline is subject to change in process by leading of the Holy Spirit)

During this process students will be guided and discipled by First Church leadership.

To get started:

  1. Fill out the application and go through the interview and acceptance process.

  2. Apply and complete Kaleo Leadership School.

  3. Relocate and secure self funding, start a business, fundraise financial support, get a job, etc. Or, preferably begin a relationship and start working for one of our partner businesses that have a vision for multiplying their companies in Appalachia. We want to find people who refuse to live under an entitlement mentality. Candidates need to be self-sufficient and willing to work during the entire process. 

  4. Estimated Cost for a family of two to live in Livingston, TN for one year is $24,000. This amount includes rent, utilities and food cost ONLY.

Months 1-6

  1. Begin to fully immerse into First Church culture. Commit to Sunday morning service, a Life Group, and other First Church events and church planting activities. Learn to live in vibrant community.

  2. Begin making weekly trips to the area God is calling you to plant a Life Group.

Months 7-18 and beyond

  1. Find a desired building or a home to plant Life Group.

  2. Find a job and or begin plans to transition personal business to desired region or town.

  3. Begin a ministry to serve target town. Weekly cookouts, dinners, widows, homeless population, etc.

  4. Begin the process to move to region or town and acquire building or home for Life Group.

  5. Begin to setup Life Group(s).

  6. Move and establish Life Group(s).

  7. Identify and disciple other leaders to plug into the Appalachia Awakening.

  8. Assist in planting other Life Groups as church multiplies.
